It All Started With a Search for Belonging
We know how it feels. As parents, we know the challenge of juggling the constant demands of work and family while trying to find a place where your kids can truly fit in, feel happy, and belong.
It can be overwhelming when you’re trying to balance their education, social skills, and emotional growth, especially when you see that the traditional paths of school or sports just aren’t the right fit for them. You’re left wondering what else is out there.
Our family’s journey began in that exact place. Our son didn’t fit the typical mould at school, and he had no interest in sports. We watched him struggle to find his tribe and a creative outlet where he could feel seen and heard, and honestly, we didn’t know what else to do.
The Turning Point
Then, we found music. Or rather, music found him.
Luckily, we realised that music was his creative outlet. His school didn’t offer enough contemporary instruments to truly ignite his passion, but we knew there was something there.
We discovered that when he was playing cool instruments and collaborating with other young musicians in a safe and inclusive environment, he wasn’t just learning—he was thriving. The real change happened when he performed with a production band on stage. For the first time, he felt inspired, validated, confident, and even “a little bit famous”.
Seeing that joy and self-assurance in him was profound. It didn’t just change his life; it changed ours forever.
Why We Do
What We Do
That experience was the catalyst for us buying the Live Music School. We knew we had to build and nurture the very space we had been searching for.
Today, our personal story is our mission. Every day, we get to witness happy, confident, and inspired students who have found their sense of belonging within our walls. Seeing them connect, create, and grow gives us the fuel to nurture these young, contemporary minds as they pursue their own musical dreams.
We are driven by a passionate belief in the transformative power of music to build confidence, foster collaboration, and bring people together.
Live Music School is more than a business to us; it’s the community we wished we had for our own son.
